Hey guys. So I just realized that the logo I currently use has trade marked symbols in it. So over the next two months I have a friend of mine doing a new logo. I should get part of it to use in around a month. It will be awesome and cool looking.(and expensive)
We have worked out a deal and all, it will be featured on most of my tanks as well via stencil and airbrush. The contract is almost done being written up and I will be aharing a link to his site as soon as details become available. See ya later guys keep on painting. The picture below is of 3 objective markers I have painted. The minis are from Warmachine but will be used in my fantasy and 40k games.

Painting Contest..Again
We all remember my complaining about. Painting contest last year. I won second place and was extatic. Well the time has come for it again and I will participating. I have learned much in the past year..Much indeed. There will be blood, sweat and tears. But I will win. No idea what to paint though.
Unpredictability
We all fall into that "Oh this and this, has to be in every list". We are predictable, driven by the units that do well in our eyes. But doesnt it get a bit boring? Dont you wanna try something new?
I ask you to try a new unit or list altogether in your next games. See what else there is in your codex besides the so called staples of your army. I play Blood Angels, which means nothing but assault marines and stormravens. But I just challenged myself to make a list and it has no assault marines. It has assault units buy no assault marines. No mephiston either. Im also using a new HQ one I have been wanting to use for a while.
Challenge yourself, make a list that is completely new to you. One that doesnt abide by your armies main purpose. Then after playing a game with such a list report back and tell me how it went. A change of pase is always welcome, isnt it?

Without The Brush
As a mini painter, painting is a huge part of my life. I usually spend around 18-30 hours a week at my workbench. When Im not sitting in my studio completely immersed in what ever game my whim is on that day, I find myself thinking about painting. Painting relaxes me, humors me, and brings a part of me out that I really like. It pulls all of my focus into something and makes me forget everything around me, no one else matters but the mini I am painting.
Thoughts of anger, saddness, or frustration fade away the minute I sit at my desk. (maybe not frustration, we all have that one mini which gives you trouble glueing together) I find it funny that I poor so much effort and emotion into a tiny piece of pewter, resin etc. Think about it, those pieces of plastic and resin mean so much to a painter. They become a part of you, after its done it directly reflects who you are.
I know I said when I paint I forget my rage and saddness buy I find the best thing to do when angry is to sit at your painting station and fixate (I know you shouldnt) on the person or thing that angers you and just start painting. Also music will help you with this. Put on your headphones and focus on the mini and the anger and paint. The next time you look up to see the time your mini will nearly be done. You focus so much on your rage while the music blocks out all other distractions and you accidently focus all of your energy on the mini and doing everything without needing to worry about being careful. I recently rage painted a Furioso Dreadnought. I had to share that observation sorry for the tangent.
Anyway, the satisfaction of looking at a complete miniature you have painted is something that drives me. The only thing better than that is sucessfully executing a new technique.
Model by model, brush by brush, we all paint for a different reason. Sometimes its cause your bored, or because you need a place to escape. I paint to escape and to keep myself focused. I also really enjoy the narrative sense of wargaming and modeling.
-Its John from IPJ saying thank you for the best year I have had in a long time. New friends, new experiences. My rookie year as a wargamer has come to a close and with it a rather strange period of my life.
Thank you for hanging in to read this it was long but I needed to say it. Why do you paint? Leave a comment.

A Year On The Run
Im sorry I missed the blogs anniversary but its been a whole year since I began blogging. I have taken long breaks but Ive always come back. I wish I knew if anyone reads this which I highly doubt because blogspot has billions of blogs and a not many readers for them. But I wanted to thank all of you for watching my videos and helping me along this journey.
For my version of viewer appreciation I ask you this, what models would you like me to paint in the coming months? Any tutorials? I have had one request for Demons of Chaos Blood Letters. I appreciate your support and tips and tricks. Im not a pro but aspire to be one soon. You have all helped me and there arent words for the way I feel twards you all! So what do u wanna see fron the IPJ this year?
The Guns Reach
Walls of fire roll forth, crushing many uder iys reddish gaze. Some try to escape, others stand in awe at their coming doom. Quickly it is upon them, burnin, cutting, smashing, both flesh and bone. The firing line marches forward, one step at a time, readying their firey wall again.

Stratedgy or not...
So it has recently come to my attention that Warhammer game play is un-realistic in the extreme. Now yes I know that it really is suppose to be un-realistic, but I mean in the way war is waged. You cannot truelly apply stratedgy that is real. You just work to your strengths and to the enemys weaknesses. But in real war an outnumbered defender( given certain advantages, which I will talk about later) can win an engagement against a far superior force. But in 40k if you only take 1000pts against someone with 2000pts you WILL lose. No matter what. You physically do not have enough to counter the other person. But you'd think ,"ok. Ill just out flank him or bottle neck him." But in this game, there are rules against that.
The rules set out for us are based aroumd the fact that you assume this has already happened or is being done. While bottle necking and flanking are possible, other things are not. Such as, Sneeking behind the enemy, out running the enemy, or diversionary tactics. The enemy knows your army and what you will do. And building a legit army isnt possible either.
In war if you'd like to be real but I'll relate it to warhammer, you would take alot of troops and heavy support. Or you would take what the situation calls for. Because in war you carefully plan out engagements and defences and provide on the spot intel to your men. Thoughts?

Land speeder
There ya go. Took a bit but im almost there. Im actually about to go put the decals on. Tommorow ill do the driver.
Landspeeder Progress.
So out of desperation and poverty I primed my landspeeder white. Then I began painting 2:1 ultramarines blue and water. So after 45minutes of re-doing coat after coat, Im finally ready to begin the meattallic bits. My plan is to go in and wash its badab black then ultramarines blue leaving the washed areas in the recesses. Then moving on to maettalics I highlight thise all again. Btw the under side Im just gonna keep washed black. After the first round of highlighting, I will go and drybrush Ice blue on all edges. Then mithril silver edge high lights on the mettalics. Follwed by a devlan mud wash on all bottom panels.
Battle Damage
I will now put on the transfers. A second company and ultramarines one. From there I will go back in with a 2:1 Adeptus Battle Grey to Chaos Black painting jagged areas here and there. Afterwards using 2:1 of adeptus battle grey to Codex gray I will paint inside all of these areas leaving a thin line of the previous layer. I will continue adding more codex grey until i am at a just codex grey mix, then move on to Fortress Grey. Finally I will paint Mithril silver in all of the fortress areas.
Any tips or trick? Leave a comment below!
A Fresh Start
Last night I began painting my first Ultramarine unit, a single landspeeder. I'm only using it because I had an unprimed one from my Blood Angels army. I am definetly buying 2 more though. They are a very cheap and effective weapons platform.
I loved them for Blood Angels but I have no idea how they will play for Ultramarines. Hopefully I can shoot them up on turn one and pop rhinos and dreadnoughts. My loadout is going to be a multi-melta and a heavy flamer. In addition to the speeders, hopefully I can get my hands on 2 predators and a Vindicator.
My changed list will be 2 tact squads with lascannon and plasma gun in each with a rhino, one vanguard squad with 3 combi-meltas and a las-plas razorback. Full command squad in a razorback las-plas, Captain with combi- melta. Then a Chapter master with thunder hammer storm shield. Two land speeders with Multi-meltas and heavy flamers, vanguard vets with all power weapons and 1 powerfist. 2 predators both with autocannon and lascannon spawnsons.(maybe even magnetized to be rhinos) And a Vindicator.
Probably another tactical squad or two in there. I dont know yet. All that I do know is that I will have a lot of fun playing this army. Have a good day!

Points Cost v.s. Effectivness
I run into the same problem everytime I make a list. Is this unit actually worth taking? More often than not we all make army lists that are very very effective in the eyes of our opponents. When in fact we couldnt make the list with everything we wanted. Every army list should have your core choices that you put in every list you make. This goes for almost all armies (Particularly Space Marines). Codex marines need tactical squads, while Blood Angels use Assault Marines and Sanguinary priests...or so I thought. Yesterday I played a 2v2 practice game for a tournament. In all the excitment of talking tactics and figuring out what I need I forgot the priests. (they give feel no pain and furious charge) Instead I ran 1 recusiarch 2(10man) assault marine squads with 2 melta guns and a power fist in each. 5 vanguard vets 4 power weapons and a power fist ,and 2 land speeders with a multimelta and a heavy flamer on each. This seemed all good and well. Until I realized what I had forgotten. My partner convinced me to keep my list. So I did.
I thought for sure that this meant that I would surely lose my assault marines. In order to take the priests i would have to get rid of the power weapons and speeders. After an entire game of losing men but staying alive, and land speeders blowing up eldar tanks. I asked myself, are priests really worth it? Can I play competitively without them? I tighed that game with my team being out numbered 4:1.
What I walked away with, was a whole new mind set. Maybe if I didnt take those exspensive priests as often or maybe even just for important squads, perhaps I could win more. After all it would have cost 225pts to get them, thats at least a stormraven. So I ask you, are there any units you play that maybe you might want to reconsider using in all of your games?
The power of the fist
So I got a team game in yesterday with Nathan from 40k Nj/NY, Ahmed, and our friend Jon. The teams were Death Wing(Nathan) and Blood Angles (me), Necrons(Jon) and Eldar(Ahmed). We played a great game but I learned a valuable lesson, everything can change with the roll of a die. On the final assault phase after being on the ropes back and forth(this time we were losing), my assault squad sergent ran a necron immortal unit off the bored and a single veterans ran a necron warrior unit away and iff the bored. This tighed the game with a total of us being out numbered 4 to 1 Nathan having lost almost everything including Belial. We tighed the game in the end. Me and Nathan High Fiving and laughing.
My friend Arthur had been telling me for weeks that it always comes down to the last turn, I never believed him. Iam a fantasy player at heart so I always played to when u loose a certain amount of guys the game is over. But today I stand corrected, Arthur I apologize for getting mad at u for poking fun at me for quitting games. U were right I am wrong. Good friends always give worth while advice. Thank you.

Ultramarines. That extra mile.
So Ive been thinkin, would it be worth it to buy all forge world doors for my ultra marine vehicles? Now I've been looking and I like the Imperial Eagle doors and the Ultramarine ones. No I need four sets of doors. Now I'm also considering getting two of each. Then mix and matching them on each vehicles. The eagle wings on the side doors, and an Ultramarines front panel. Then two Ultramarines side doors and an Imperial Eagle front panel. Now these would obviously take alot longer to recieve, but it will bring a new set of detail to the vehicles.
I have decided how I'm going to go about stating off the army. Two Space Marines Battleforces, Command Squad, Razorback, and a Captain. This would give me around 1500pts. Of course I would paint the first battle force first. I've decided to use an army painter primer to prime them all blue. Then wash black, paint Ultramarines blue, then edge hightlights 1:2 ultramarines blue to ice blue. What do you think of this?

Test Marine
This guy was given to me by my good friend. He had primed it black. Painted it then re primed it. And painted it and then primed it Gain. So I made it into a test marine for my ultra marines. Eh.
Back In red...then blue..and now Im confused.
Hey guys Im back. I have been painting and modelling. But no real progress. I have been attempting to do a blood angels army. But to no avail. I really enjoy the play style. But I have a very disorganized force. Broken beaten and battered they need to be repaired and re-primed. And it woukd take just as long to do that then to actually paint them. So I have decided to keep playing with them. While I collect and paint my New Ultramarines Army. This is inspired by Carl from The Independent Characters Podcast. I am going to attempt a hibby progress challenge. I will attempt to paint 500pts by a tournament next month. Then I will use existing models to play along side with them. But after that I will only play with the amount of points I have painted. In other news, I have pre-ordered the new 25th anniversary 40k mini. Two of them to be exact. My warriors of chaos army also got bigger lately too. With an exspansion of chosen they have 5 out of 20 and right now im at 2700pts with them. Have a good one guys.
